Document Layout
A Document Layout consists of a Word document that defines the starting point for new Tariff Record Versions and, optionally, associated Header Template and/or Footer Template. The most important things to define within the Word document are the page layout properties (such as page orientation and margins) and the Normal style.
When the content of a Tariff Record Version is first created, the selected Document Layout's Word document is the starting point. The Header Template and Footer Template are used in TariffShark and appear in the following places:
- Marked content when being edited in Microsoft Word
- PDF version of marked content
- PDF version of clean content
- Published Word document (whether publishing a Filing or a Tariff)
- Published PDF file (whether publishing a Filing or a Tariff)
The layout Word document must adhere to the following rules:
- The Word document must be a .doc extension.
- The body of the document must be empty: it cannot contain content.
- The document may contain a header and/or footer, however, they are strictly static content, which means that TariffShark will not replace symbols with data values. If a Document Layout is defined by a Word document that includes header and/or footer and the Document Layout also defines a Header Template and/or Footer Template, the Document Layout's templates take precedence.
