Security Role
A Security Role describes a group of TariffShark commands for the purposes of setting up application security. TariffShark comes with a predefined set of Security Roles, which can be used as is, changed to meet your specific needs, or even deleted. These Security Roles are:
- Administrator - This security role provides access to all TariffShark functions.
- Editor - This security role allows users to prepare tariff filings.
- Publisher - This security role allows users to publish filings and tariffs.
- Read Only - This security role provides read-only access to TariffShark data.
- Security Officer - This security role allows users to administer security within TariffShark.
User access to the features of and data within TariffShark is configured by assigning Users to Security Roles.When assigning a User to a Security Role, the assignment can allow a User to play the role for all Companies, only a specific Company, or only a specific Tariff Database within a specific Company. A User can be assigned to as many Security Roles as necessary.
If you plan to configure TariffShark security such that Users only have access to some Companies or Tariff Databases, it is necessary to create the Companies and Tariff Databases before you will be able to complete the security configuration.
