TariffShark Tiger User Guide
Not your version?User
A User is a person who uses TariffShark software to perform a tariff-related function or to administer the software. All Users are required to authenticate (log in) to gain access to the software.
To authorize the functions to which a User has access, TariffShark uses role-based access control:
- Security Role: Describes a group of TariffShark commands for the purposes of setting up application security
- Role Assignment: A User can execute TariffShark command only if it has been assigned to a Security Role
- Role Authorization: A User must be assigned to one or more Security Roles. When assigning a User to a Security Role, the assignment can allow a User to play the role for all Companies, only a specific Company, or only a specific Tariff Database within a specific Company.
If you plan to configure TariffShark security such that Users only have access to some Companies or Tariff Databases, it is necessary to create the Companies and Tariff Databases before you will be able to complete the security configuration.
For each User TariffShark maintains an associated user profile, that consists of:
- Unique username
- Password
- Password is initially generated and emailed to end user per application server's settings
- User has the option to change the password by using the Update Profile command
- Unique and valid email address
- List of assigned Security Roles
