Not your version?FERC Attachment
A FERC Attachment in TariffShark is supplemental information above and beyond the content of your Tariffs that is sent to FERC when making an electronic Tariff Filing. A transmittal letter is the most common example of a FERC Attachment.
- Every FERC Attachment is classified with an attachment type, which is labeled "Attachment" in TariffShark. The types of attachments that are valid for a given Filing are based the Filing's type. The list of filing types and valid attachments for each is provided by FERC and incorporated into TariffShark.
- Any number of FERC Attachments may be created in the same Filing with the same attachment type.
- Every FERC Attachment must be designated with a security level. The valid security levels are defined by FERC and have been incorporated into TariffShark. At the time of this writing, the valid security levels are "Critical Energy Infrastructure", "Privileged", and "Public".
- Some attachments are required (this is defined by FERC and incorporated into TariffShark). Such attachments are automatically added to a Filing as FERC Attachments when the Filing is created.
- When a waiver to provide a required attachment is allowed (a rule defined by FERC and incorporated into TariffShark), TariffShark provides a checkbox that may be checked to request a waiver for the attachment.
- Some attachments have a required security level (defined by FERC and incorporated into TariffShark). When creating an attachment that has a required security level, that security level is selected by default. At least one FERC Attachment of the attachment type must be included in the Filing with the required security level.
- The content for FERC Attachments is typically uploaded into TariffShark. TariffShark also provides the ability to generate the content for FERC Attachments.
- FERC Attachments have a Sort Order that tells TariffShark the order in which to place them into the FERC XML (which directs the order in which they will appear in eLibrary). TariffShark provides default Sort Order values, which may be updated as needed.
- TariffShark provides the ability to edit FERC Attachments that are provided in Microsoft Word .DOC or DOCX formats.
