Hotfix: Fix arbitrary limit of 2,100 AL Package links
If you routinely link AL Packages in one Tariff Book with AL Packages in another Tariff Book, once you have linked approximately 2,100 AL Packages to 2,100 other AL Packages, attempting to open the Update AL Package screen will result in this error:
Exception Number: 8003 (The incoming request has too many parameters. The server supports a maximum of 2100 parameters. Reduce the number of parameters and resend the request.) has occurred.
Resolution
- Download this hotfix .ZIP file TariffShark-CPUC-v2-WebServices-2.0.868.1.zip
- On the application server machine ...
- Open the folder where the TariffShark CPUC application server files are stored.
- Create a backup of the folder, its files, and all sub-folders and their files.
- Unzip the hotfix files to the application folder (overwriting all existing files).
- Ask a TariffShark CPUC user to run the TariffShark CPUC v2 client, log into the server where the hotfix was applied, and select "Help | About" from the menu.

Verify that the Application Server Version is reported as 2.0.868.1.

Effective April 1, 2010, The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) revised its regulations to require that all tariffs and tariff revisions and rate change applications for the public utilities, natural gas pipelines, oil pipelines and power administrations be filed electronically according to a set of standards developed in conjunction with the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB).
The Commission requires that all tariffs, tariff revisions and rate change applications be filed electronically in the manner prescribed by Order No. 714. The affected required filers are:
- Public utilities and Power Marketing Administrations under Parts 35 and 300;
- Natural gas pipelines under Parts 154 and 284;
- Intrastate gas pipelines under Part 284; and
- Oil pipelines under Part 341.
